At the annual São Paulo International Motor Show Nissan debuted their new Nissan Kicks Concept car. This new concept was designed in order to portray the incredibly impressive design signature found in Nissan models while also paying homage to the people and culture of Brazil.
Nissan designers stated that they chose to add distinctive pops of color and flare to this model in order to represent the vibrant culture and personality of the people from brazil. Additionally, they were looking to create a model that would make a bold statement against the predominantly black and white models mainly seen on the roads there.
“The main inspiration for this concept was the contrast that we saw in the grey tones of the urban settings in São Paulo and the bright natural colors that we saw near our studio in Rio,” said Robert Bauer, Chief Designer at the Rio studio. “How to combine these two, the more grey urban tones with the bright sunset orange that we would see – this combination we thought was really uniquely Brazilian.”
This new concept was a collaborative effort of Nissan Design America in San Diego, Global Design Center in Japan and Nissan Design America Rio.
