In Colorado, inspections are required to renew you car's registration. It's also helps keep your vehicle running smoothly, protecting you, your passengers, and others on the road.
If you need to renew your vehicle registration, you'll need to have your car inspected by a certified inspection station. Fort Collins Nissan in Fort Collins, CO, is certified to complete these inspections. A full list of certified stations is also available on the Colorado DMV website.
Your inspection tech will check several core components of the car to make sure it is running as it should. This will include inspection of: brakes, filters, fluids, exhaust, tires, lights, suspension, steering, windshield wipers, and battery.
A propertly maintained vehicle should pass with ease. This means keeping up with regular maintenance services, such as: tire rotations, oil changes, wheel alignment, brake services, engine & air filter changes, and battery checks. You can schedule service for all of these with Fort Collins Nissan.
Upon completion of the inspection, you'll be given a report from the technician. It's possible to fail the inspection if any part fails to perform the way it should or is missing from your vehicle. Sometimes service recommendations will be made even with a passing inspection. This happens when any of your parts are nearing their manufacturer-suggested replacement date or are functioning correctly at the time but are expected to need replacement soon.
