Every 6 months or 5,000 miles, whichever comes first.

15,000 miles is the typical recommendation. Depending on where you drive and other factors, this mileage may be reduced. We do inspect both the Air Filter and In Cabin Air Filter during the MPI process.

We do schedule convenient appointment times throughout every day, but walk-ins are welcome.

What should I do if I get a recall notice?

With most recalls, you will be advised to get the vehicle in sooner rather than later. You can either check the Nissan USA page under the Owners tab or call us with your vehicle’s VIN. We can look up the information for you, at which point in time, we can get that service scheduled for you.

Why should I buy genuine Nissan parts?

Nissan genuine parts are the parts your vehicle originally came with and are tested for your specific vehicle. They come with a nationwide 12-month/12,000-mile warranty.

What type of training do your technicians have?

Our technicians go through rigorous Nissan training focused on all aspects of your vehicle. These training regimens take place online and in person (COVID permitting). Part of the S.C.O.P.E training that our staff participates in also requires that ASE certifications be acquired.

Why are vehicle inspections important?

In Colorado, inspections are required to renew you car's registration. It's also helps keep your vehicle running smoothly, protecting you, your passengers, and others on the road.

Where can I have my vehicle inspected?

If you need to renew your vehicle registration, you'll need to have your car inspected by a certified inspection station. Fort Collins Nissan in Fort Collins, CO, is certified to complete these inspections. A full list of certified stations is also available on the Colorado DMV website.

What is checked on a vehicle inspection?

Your inspection tech will check several core components of the car to make sure it is running as it should. This will include inspection of: brakes, filters, fluids, exhaust, tires, lights, suspension, steering, windshield wipers, and battery.

How do you pass your vehicle inspection?

A propertly maintained vehicle should pass with ease. This means keeping up with regular maintenance services, such as: tire rotations, oil changes, wheel alignment, brake services, engine & air filter changes, and battery checks. You can schedule service for all of these with Fort Collins Nissan.

How do you check your inspection results?

Upon completion of the inspection, you'll be given a report from the technician. It's possible to fail the inspection if any part fails to perform the way it should or is missing from your vehicle. Sometimes service recommendations will be made even with a passing inspection. This happens when any of your parts are nearing their manufacturer-suggested replacement date or are functioning correctly at the time but are expected to need replacement soon.
