Nissan NISMO athlete Jann Mardenborough has recently been announced as the 50th most marketable athlete in the world. This is an honor that has landed him in an exclusive pool of athletes that include F1 driver Lewis Hamilton, soccer star Lionel Messi and sprinter Usain Bolt. Mardenborough quickly shot to stardom when he won Nissan’s GT Academy back in 2011 and has since become a strong competitor in the racing community.

The list of most marketable athletes is put together by SportsPro media after taking into account a number of factors about each athlete. These factors include charisma, crossover appeal, value for money, willingness to be marketed, age and home market. Due to Mardenborough impressive skill and high level of popularity, he is expected to fall into the top 50 athletes on the list for at least the next three years.
