The award-winning and incredibly efficient Nissan JUKE has been designed to offer customers an incredibly smooth and relaxing driving experience. Recently, stunt driver Terry Grant decided to put this model’s driving ability to the ultimate test by driving it on only two wheels. this is not the first time that Grant has performed this stunt as be previously set a world record for the fastest mile driven on two wheels in a four-wheel vehicle back in 2011.

For the first record, Grant piloted a Nissan JUKE and so decided to get behind the wheel of this model once again to see if he could break his own record at the 2015 Goodwood Festival of Speed. For this year’s attempt, Grant used the JUKE NISMO RS and was able to not only successfully complete the mile, but he came in at 2 min 10 seconds, which is a full 45 seconds shorter than his previous record.

“I was shocked at how much faster the JUKE NISMO RS was, and to take 45 seconds off what was already a quick time, was unbelievable,” said Grant. “To break it by so much on my first attempt was a great way to kick off the weekend, and I’m looking forward to seeing if I can go faster.”

Check out the video above to see highlights from this record-breaking feat.

Just recently, Nissan North America and the Tennessee Titans announced a 20-year partnership that gives exclusive naming rights* of Nashville’s downtown stadium to Nissan. The newly renamed, Nissan Stadium, will serve as a home for Titans football games, Tennessee State University football games, various concerts, and the Music City Bowl.

“Middle Tennessee is a great place to live and do business and Nashville is one of the great vacation and convention destinations in the U.S.,” said Fred Diaz, senior vice president, Sales & Marketing and Operations, U.S.A., Nissan North America, Inc. “The stadium is a centerpiece of the downtown skyline, and we want visitors and Titan game TV viewers to know that we are proud to call Nashville and the great state of Tennessee, Nissan’s home.”

This partnership also makes Nissan the official automotive partner of the Tennessee Titans. Adding to its sponsorship of NBC’s “The Voice”, the Heisman House, and a strong advertising presence in the past super bowl.

The new stadium naming only furthers Nissan’s presence in Tennessee which already encompasses powertrain and vehicle manufacturing centers in Smyrna and Decherd, plus its North American headquarters located in Franklin, Tennessee.

One aspect to the new partnership will be helping with various community outreach programs held by charitable groups across middle Tennessee. Nissan will be sponsor for the yearly “Taste of Titan” event which will this year serves to help the Wounded Warrior Project. Over the upcoming 20-year partnership, over $1 million is expected to be raised for local nonprofits through these yearly events.

* The naming rights are subject to approval by the National Football League and the Metro Government Authority, which both the Titans and Nissan anticipate will be obtained shortly.

On June 22nd, Nissan made the announcement that it would be the official automotive sponsor for the Wounded Warrior Project (WWP), adding to an already sound relationship between the two groups.

Throughout the U.S., Nissan dealers can help do their part by raising money for wounded veterans and bringing to light the issues that they often face when coming back home. The Nissan Dealer that raises the most money will be invited to the organizations’ yearly Courage Awards & Benefit Dinner® in New York City.

“Nissan and Nissan dealers are proud to be helping support our nation’s heroes by raising awareness and support through local promotions and events, as well as continuing our efforts at the national level,” said Fred Diaz, senior vice president, Sales, Marketing & Operations, U.S.A., Nissan North America, Inc. “It’s Nissan’s way of honoring the service to those who sacrifice so much for all of us, including their devoted family members.”

The recent “Project Titan” trip was another way Nissan showed its support of WWP. In the trip, two injured veterans navigated a custom Nissan Titan pickup for 10 days across the Alaskan Wilderness. Last Veteran’s Day a short film showed on select channels showing their journey.

Earlier this year in January, Nissan donated $1 million in a joint effort with their “With Dad” Super Bowl commercial, to help families ensure a better future.

The 2015 Nissan Sentra has just a been named the number one Compact Car in the 2015 J.D. Power Initial Quality Study℠ (IQS) as well as earning an IIHS “Top Safety Pick” earlier in the year.

The initial quality study determines its results on feedback received from over 84,000 purchasers and lessees after owning the vehicle for 90 days. Initial quality is assessed based upon how many problems were experienced per 100 vehicles. The lower the score, the higher the quality. The results were collected from February 2015 to May 2015.

“In the very competitive segment of compact sedans, Sentra continues to separate itself with a strong combination of quality, safety, value, style and more,” said Fred Diaz, senior vice president, Nissan Sales & Marketing and Operations. “Driven by owner feedback, the J.D. Power Initial Quality Study serves as an important benchmark for new vehicle quality, further demonstrating the worth of Sentra and Quest as top contenders in their respective segments.”

The clean, refreshing, and precise look embodies the Sentra’s more “professional” feel, aimed at consumers who’d like to drive a higher standard of vehicles than what’s usually available in it’s class. The wraparound headlights with LED accents and LED taillights paired with Nissan’s classic trapezoid-shaped grille add a nice touch.

The interior only carries on the precise look and feel of the exterior through using materials not commonly found in compact cars. This includes features like a soft-touch instrument panel and door armrests, and available maple-wood-tone trim paired with leather-appointed seats. Providing a roomy feel with a compact exterior, the Sentra allows for everyone to enjoy a comfortable ride.

With a 1.8L 4-cylinder engine, the Sentra FE + S model can achieve up to 30mpg city/40 mpg highway and 34 mpg combined, allowing for a driving range over 415 miles. With safety features like dual-stage supplemental front air bags, rear-seat outboard, occupants head protection, and many more, the Sentra strives for safety. Nissan has just been named by Plug In America as the exclusive automotive sponsor of National Drive Electric Week until 2017. With its fifth anniversary coming this September, the largest yearly organized event featuring plug-in vehicles will involve a variety of activities including test-drives in various U.S. cities and more.

“Nissan is a driving force in the plug-in vehicle industry, with the top-selling electric vehicle, Nissan LEAF, and with investments in charging infrastructure and consumer education,” said Tom Saxton, Plug In America’s Program Manager for National Drive Electric Week. “Nissan’s support of National Drive Electric Week helps Plug In America with our efforts to rapidly increase adoption of EVs of all kinds in cities across the U.S.”

National Drive Electric Week is centered on the mindset that a drive in a clean plug-in car will trump everything and convince gasoline powered drivers to make the switch. The event started in 2011 and has grown from 29 cities to over 150 cities in both the U.S and other countries. The Sierra Group, Plug In America, and the Electric Auto Association work together to put on events that feature different electric and hybrid cars from a variety of automakers.

Nissan and the company’s fully electric LEAF have exclusively sponsored the event for the past two years. The LEAF tops electric car sales throughout the world with over 178,000 sales throughout the globe and 80,000 in the United States. The LEAF can seat up to five people and can drive an EPA-estimated* 84 miles on a full charge with MPGe ratings up to 126 city, 101 highway, and 114 combined.

*2015 EPA Fuel Economy Estimate 126 city, 101 highway. Based on EPA formula of 33.7 kW/hour equal to one gallon of gasoline energy, EPA rated the LEAF® equivalent to 126 MPG measured as gasoline fuel efficiency in city driving, and 101 MPG in highway driving. Actual mileage may vary with driving conditions — use for comparison only. 2015 EPA range of 84 miles.
