Nissan NISMO Athlete Recognized by SportsPro Media
Nissan NISMO athlete Jann Mardenborough has recently been announced as the 50th most marketable athlete in the world. This is an honor that has landed him in an exclusive pool of athletes that include F1 driver Lewis Hamilton, soccer star Lionel Messi and sprinter Usain Bolt. Mardenborough quickly shot to stardom when he won Nissan’s GT Academy back in 2011 and has since become a strong competitor in the racing community.
The list of most marketable athletes is put together by SportsPro media after taking into account a number of factors about each athlete. These factors include charisma, crossover appeal, value for money, willingness to be marketed, age and home market. Due to Mardenborough impressive skill and high level of popularity, he is expected to fall into the top 50 athletes on the list for at least the next three years.

In the second video we see Bobble Bret and Bret Michaels out for a drive in the Nissan NCV down the road when they pull up next to a vehicle that das a hula girl mounted on the dashboard. Bobble Bret is smitten until Michaels reminds him of making a similar mistake in the past.

Bobble Bret and the Hula Girl:
We recently shared a blog with you that discussed Nissan’s efforts with Habitat for Humanity and how the automaker recently participated in an event in Los Angeles along with the Heisman Trophy Trust in order to build a new house for a local family of five. The previous blog discussed how the three organizations helped to facilitate e a weekend-long event to not only build a home for this family, but to help and raise awareness about the need for affordable housing all throughout the U.S.
Here we are offering you a behind-the-scenes account from a few of the participants that took part in the build that day. The video shows Heisman winners and Nissan executives discussing why the are passionate about this cause and helping to build a home for this family.
“It’s great to get out of the office and spend some time in the community working with our dealers, working with the Heisman Trust, working with our people, working with a family who really deserves to have a home. And it makes it all worth it when you see Nissan make this kind of impact on a community and do that in a way that is just genuine. The smiles on people’s faces here, the hard work, the sweat – all that comes together, and we know that we are making an impact in the community. That’s a great place for us to be and a great feeling to have as a leader within the company.”

2015 Nissan Murano Receives Top Safety Rating
The Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS) has presented a “Top Safety Pick Plus” rating to the 2015 Nissan Murano for its impressive ratings in all five of the crash tests from IIHS and its optional Forward Emergency Braking. In the five crash test, the Murano earned a “Good” rating and the front crash prevention earned the vehicle a “Superior” rating.
“The designation of the IIHS ‘Top Safety Pick Plus’ for the all-new 2015 Murano is exactly what Nissan expected for a vehicle that has always set the trends in its segment,” said Fred Diaz, senior vice president, Sales & Marketing, Parts & Service, U.S.A, Nissan North America, Inc. (NNA). “This Murano has once again raised the bar for Midsize Crossovers in terms of modern styling, levels of interior refinement, luxury and technology in its class. At Nissan, we are happy to add the IIHS Top Safety Pick Plus rating to the list.”
The 2015 Murano comes equipped with standard safety features that include Nissan Advanced Air Bag System (AABS), 3-point rear seatbelts, LATCH System and 3-point front seatbelts with pre-tensioners and load limiters and adjustable upper anchors.
In addition, this model has a number of available safety features such as Vehicle Dynamic Control (VDC), Tire Pressure Monitoring System (TPMS) with position monitoring and Nissan’s innovative Easy Fill Tire Alert, Traction Control System (TCS), Around View® Monitor (AVM) with Moving Object Detection (MOD) system, Nissan Immobilizer system, child safety rear door locks, anti-theft alarm system and Zone Body construction with front and rear crumple zones and occupant zone.
Nissan Motor Company has extended its partnership with the Heisman Trophy Trust and Habitat for Humanity in order to help promote awareness about the need for affordable housing across the country. For this weekend, six former Heisman Trophy winners will come together for a special event in Los Angeles that combines both football and building houses.
“Working with Habitat, Nissan employees have logged more than 70,000 volunteer hours to improve communities across the country over the past 10 years,” said Nissan Marketing Vice President Jeremy Tucker. “Now, with the personal commitment of time and effort from the Heisman winners, we’re creating a one-of-a-kind partnership that can bring even greater attention to local needs for decent, affordable housing. We’re grateful for their participation.”
The six Heisman winners participating this weekend include John Huarte (1964), Tony Dorsett (1976), George Rogers (1980), Doug Flutie (1984), Matt Leinart (2004) and Troy Smith (2006). For the start of the weekend, they will be running a football clinic with about 250 students from Carson High School which will take place Friday night. Then, on Saturday, they will all join in the Habitat for Humanity effort to help build a new house for Juan and Gloria loza and their three sons.
Nissan Brings Back Ride of Your Life
Last year, Nissan released the “Ride of Your Life” campaign that offered a unique look at the impressive performance capabilities of the brand’s all-new Altima. In the spot, participants were told that they would be going for a ride in the new Nissan racecar and climbed in for an exciting trip around the track. When the ride was over, they were then surprised to see the outer camouflage on the vehicle removed revealing that this was a production model sedan.
This year, Nissan has brought the “Rise of Your life” campaign back again, but this time they have stepped things up a notch. For this year, the brand set up an elaborate display at a local shopping mall. The display was a large box with digital messages on the side instructing them to press the button in front to enter the Ride of their Life. Many people stepped up to the button and while many were denied, a handful of luck participants were given the greenlight. The selected participants then saw the boxes outside digital camouflage fade away revealing an Altima and a professional driver. Then then entered the car and were driven to a race track where they proceeded to take the ride of their life.
“Consumer response to last year’s campaign was so strong, we just had to play it again, even bigger and better,” said Jeremy Tucker, vice president, Marketing Communications and Media, Nissan North America. “You can see the excitement on the participants’ faces when the Altima is revealed at the mall, and especially after their track ride-and-drive experience – reinforcing our belief that Altima is no ordinary mid-size sedan.”
