Reverse Graffiti Artist Moose recently created a large-scale mural in the subway on Station’s Approach, Waterloo in London, England. This mural was commissioned by Nissan as a creative way to highlight the ongoing air pollution problem in the city of London cause mainly by vehicle emissions. This projects was done as part of Nissan’s campaign to get more people interested in zero-emissions vehicles such as the Nissan LEAF in order to reduce this ongoing pollution issue.
As a Reverse Graffiti artist, Moose creates his artwork through the unique process of removing dirt and grime from a wall through the use of a power washer or wire brush and leaving a negative image in its place. For the mural in London, Moose used a power washer that was powered by energy from the battery of a Nissan LEAF. The images created by Moose depicted several historical London landmarks such as Buckingham Palace, Battersea Power Station, The Shard and The London Eye.
“I’ve been using reverse graffiti for fifteen years now – in fact I named it,” said explained Moose, who originates from Leeds. “My whole ethos is about highlighting the amount of pollution we endure daily using a very positive harmless method that never fails to ask questions about what we accept and what we shouldn’t accept in our environment. For these reasons I was keen to be involved in this project. Electric cars and alternative fuelling systems provide the brightest future we’ve ever known in the history of the automotive industry in terms of protecting our environment. It’s a pleasure to be given the opportunity to create public art in this way, and I’m very pleased with the iconic simplicity of the mural and its message.”

Nissan LEAF Leads the Way to a New World Record
Nissan played a large role in the setting of a new Guinness World Record in California recently. In celebration of National Drive Electric Week California hosted the largest parade of electric vehicles (EVs) ever. This parade consisted of a total of 507 cars the majority of which were the Nissan LEAF. According to Plug In America as of September 10 of this year sales of plug-in vehicles in the U.S. has officially reached a quarter of a million.
“We are currently at around 61,000 sales in the United States since the launch of LEAF four years ago. It is number one in the market (and) number one in the world. It is a natural fit for an opportunity like this to come out and be at this event and set a Guinness World Record on largest number of electric vehicles in a parade at any given time,” said Toby Perry, director, Nissan EV marketing.

Custom Nissan Model Developed By Nissan Engineers
At the Nissan Technical Center in Stanfield, Arizona engineers had custom designed a unique vehicle to be used to hauling small loads of supplies around the shop. The new vehicle is a hybrid of a Nissan LEAF car and Nissan Frontier Mid-Size pickup. In order to create this vehicle, engineers took the body of a LEAF, removed the back seats and rear end, adding in place the back bed of a Frontier. This custom model gives the engineers a compact vehicle that can be easily maneuvered around the shop with the convenience of a truck bed to transport heavy objects.

Project Titan Vehicle Completed by Nissan
After several months of development, Nissan has finally completed its Project Titan vehicle. This project was first initiated at the beginning of the year when Nissan announced its plans to create a custom Titan to take two Wounded Warrior veterans on the ultimate off-road adventure. Through the use of social media, the public was able to participate in the development of the model and offer suggestions on the types of advanced features the model should be equipped with.
The Titan was created from a 2014 Titan Crew Cab PRO-4X® with custom features such as 18-inch Fuel Revolver D525 Wheels wrapped in 35-inch Nitto Trail Grappler M/T tires, a Digital-Camouflage Design, a ARB Deluxe Bull Bar and Bulldog LED Lighting. With this vehicle completed, the ultimate adventure through Alaska will soon take place and the public will be able to enjoy the adventure with them through a YouTube series documenting it.
“The robust Titan serves as a great starting point for an adventure of this magnitude. With the help of Nissan’s Facebook fan base, Project Titan is fully equipped for the Alaskan Frontier,” said Fred Diaz, senior vice president, Nissan Sales & Marketing and Operations U.S. “I’m very much looking forward to following the Wounded Warrior Project team as they make their way through Alaska behind the wheel of Project Titan. This is the trip of a lifetime, and these veterans have all the essentials in this custom Nissan Titan to tackle many of the challenges the great wilderness will send their way throughout the journey.”
