Your Ultimate Haunted Road Trip Guide
Happy Halloween from your friends at Tynan’s Nissan Fort Collins! Lucky those of us living near Fort Collins, Greeley, Longmont, Loveland, CO; and Cheyenne, WY, we don’t have to travel very far to experience some of the scariest places in the country! In order to celebrate Halloweekend, we’ve put together a special haunted road trip for our customers – Colorado Edition! Hop in your New Nissan Vehicle and prepare for some scares!
It wouldn’t be a Colorado haunted road trip if we didn’t start at the infamous Stanley Hotel in Estes Park, CO. The hotel became famous after Stephen King released his classic horror novel, “The Shining” in 1977. The book was inspired by his stay at the hotel.
Next up is the Fitzsimons Army Hospital in Aurora, CO. Although it closed back in 1999, the angry spirits have not gotten the message. There have been many reports of unexplainable noises and many have claimed to see deceased military roaming around.
Afterward, head over to Cheesman Park in Denver, CO, which was built on top of an old cemetery. Need we say more? If you’re really brave, save this one for when it gets dark. If you dare.
You’ve survived the worst of it! Now it’s time for a nice meal at the Meeker Hotel and Cafe in Meeker, CO. If you’d like to add some guests to your dining party, we suggest Charlie Dunbar and Painted Lady? Charlie, the original owner who was killed during a gunfight, is said to lead women down long staircases, while the Painted Lady manages to wake guests up in the night with her strong perfume.

Nissan Officially Announces Mitsubishi Acquisition
Earlier this month, we told you about the massive deal between Nissan and Mitsubishi that is waiting to be approved. The deal, in which Nissan would purchase 34% equity stake in Mitsubishi for 237 billion yen, would catapult Renault-Nissan to the world’s third-largest automotive group. We’re happy to announce that the deal has finally been approved!
This five-year alliance will bring multiple “synergies” or commonalities between the two brands, most importantly, common vehicle platforms and technology sharing.
“The combination of Nissan, Mitsubishi Motors and Renault will create a new force in global car-making,” said Ghosn. “It will be one of the world’s three largest automotive groups, with the economies of scale, breakthrough technologies and manufacturing capabilities to produce vehicles to serve customer demand in every market segment and in every geographic market around the world.”
Congratulations to Nissan on a successful acquisition!

Nissan Helps Hurricane Matthew Victims
While we are lucky enough to live in an area that is not impacted by hurricanes, many people in Florida, Georgia, South Carolina, North Carolina and Virginia are still dealing with the devastating impact of Hurricane Matthew. Although they are lucky to have survived, many individuals and business owners have suffered damaged vehicles or a total loss because of the storm.
Nissan is helping victims get their lives back to normal by offering employee-pricing on most Nissan vehicles. Victims in the affected areas can work with their local Nissan dealership now through the end of the month to take advantage of this opportunity, which includes additional incentives and even a deferred payment plan* for qualified customers.
We are proud to work for such a generous and caring company!

*NMAC deferred payment plan does not apply to leases; interest accrues on any deferred payments; offer applies to 60-month new contracts, except for Altima and Rogue, for which 72 month terms are applicable.
No Charge to Charge
Imagine never paying for gas again. Yes, we’re serious. The Nissan LEAF, which is 100% electric and 100% fun, could make that dream a reality, but we know you’re probably skeptical. And you probably have a lot of questions. How long will a charge last? How long will it take to charge? Where are the charging stations? The Nissan LEAF offers a range of up to 107 miles*, and when you purchase one from Tynan’s Nissan Fort Collins, you’ll get two years of complimentary 30-minute fast charges at participating No Charge to Charge stations. And with the largest national metro-area fast-charging network, trust us, that’s a lot. To see where the closest charging stations are to you, visit https://www.plugshare.com/, then stop by and see us for a test drive!
As you may have already heard earlier this year, Nissan and Mitsubishi entered into a strategic partnership together. Since then, we have heard very little details on what that means for both car brands. However, recently Renault-Nissan CEO, Carlos Ghosn, confirmed that they were going to announce a “massive’ business plan very shortly.
“This is not a deal where we say, ‘OK, we made the deal, now let’s think what we can do together,” [Ghosn] told reporters [at the Paris Motor Show]. “No. The day we announce the deal, we’re going to tell you exactly what we’re going to do together. And it’s massive. It’s massive between Mitsubishi and Nissan. And also, it may be very significant between Renault and Mitsubishi.”
Very little details have been released so far, but we do know that the plan will include details regarding how Nissan and Mitsubishi will grow the U.S. market and expand the electric vehicle technology. “We will have to dig more in the U.S.,” Ghosn said. “But when you talk about purchasing, engineering, platforms, engines, plug-in hybrids — it’s massive.”
As of right now, Nissan and Mitsubishi are still waiting for the deal to be approved by the government. It is expected to be approved by the end of the year. Keep checking back on the Tynan’s Nissan Fort Collins blog for updates!

Interbrand’s most recent Best Global Brands Study has revealed that Nissan has risen from 49th on the list to 43rd over the past year. This is the fifth straight year that Nissan has been recognized for the brand consultancy. They were also recognized as the fourth fastest growing brand and the fastest growing automotive brand!
Interbrand chose Nissan for a number of reasons, including their long-term vision for promoting their brand through digital platforms, their new partnerships (like the recent agreement with Microsoft), their product innovation (like the GT-R Nismo), and of course, their commitment customer satisfaction.
“Brand Power has been a consistent focus across the company for the last five years and it is very encouraging that all our efforts continue to be recognized by this influential brand ranking,” said Roel de Vries, corporate vice president and the global head of marketing and brand strategy for Nissan. “The fact that we remain the fastest growing automotive brand is also further proof that the story around our products and our vision for the future of driving is continuing to resonate.”

Nissan Murano is the Best Midsize SUV of 2016
The 2016 Nissan Murano was recently chosen by Cars.com and MotorWeek as the “Best Midsize SUV of 2016.” The Murano competed with the 2016 Ford Edge, 2016 Jeep Grand Cherokee, 2016 Kia Sorento, and the 2017 Hyundai Santa Fe Sport. All five vehicles were put through a rigorous testing process, where editors evaluated the SUVs on a set course and also tested by a family who was in the market for an SUV. Fuel economy was also considered.
“The Murano is the closest option to a luxury SUV in this group, with a level of cabin materials and styling flair that’s largely missing among the others,” said Cars.com Editor-in-Chief Patrick Olsen. “The Murano’s high points extend beyond its quality interior. The SUV is packed with technology and family-friendly features, and thanks to its V-6 power, the Murano is a blast to drive.”
This is not the first award that the Nissan lineup has earned from Cars.com. Earlier this year they chose the 2016 Nissan TITAN XD as the “Best Pickup Truck of 2016” and the 2016 Nissan Rogue as the “Family Car of the Year.” All three Nissan Vehicles are available at Tynan’s Nissan Fort Collins! Visit us for a test drive.

“Nissan sponsors many educational programs to help children and youth learn and grow,” said Rebecca Vest, Nissan vice president of Corporate Development and Social Responsibility. “There is no better way to nurture opportunity in the communities where we live and work than to promote literacy and a desire to learn among children from an early age. We are proud to partner with Governor’s Books from Birth Foundation and Tennessee’s Imagination Library.”
The Governor’s Books from Birth Foundation (GBBF) was on the receiving end of a monetary gift totaling $100,000 from Nissan yesterday. Since 2005, Nissan has donated $1.1 million to GBBF in an effort to encourage early childhood literacy in Middle Tennessee. The foundation specializes in providing age-appropriate books each month to preschool children who are enrolled in Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library programs in four Tennessee counties where Nissan has a presence. GBBF has distributed more than 26.8 million books across the state of Tennessee.
“We know that early learning and reading skills are absolutely critical for a child’s success in life,” said Theresa Carl, president of GBBF. “Thanks to Nissan’s generosity and commitment, more than 4 million books have been delivered in Davidson, Williamson, Rutherford and Franklin counties since 2004. Our continued partnership with Nissan through the years has made a significant impact on enrollment growth and on the lives of the thousands of children served by this program.”
