Nissan has teamed up with Enterprise CarShare to help college students and faculty navigate around their communities more affordably. Through this program, Nissan will provide new vehicles that Enterprise will make available through their CarShare fleets at close to 90 campuses that participate with their program. This program has become increasingly popular since it was first initiated, and in the last year alone it has grown by 20 percent.
The idea for this program came from research by Enterprise that found that millennials were heavily influenced to purchase a new car based on their rental experience. Surveys showed that 68 percent of the millennial participants admitted to considering a new model because of a positive rental experience with it.
“The Enterprise CarShare program offers a convenient way for college students, faculty, and staff to enjoy an extended test drive of a wide range of Nissan vehicles and to experience ‘Innovation that excites’ firsthand,” said Fred Diaz, senior vice president, Sales & Marketing and Operations, U.S.A., Nissan North America, Inc. “And for those about to graduate and recent graduates, we’ll be there to support the transition into the working world with our College Grad program when they are ready to purchase a new Nissan car, SUV or truck.”
As an additional incentive, from now until December 31, Enterprise CarShare users will be entitled to a special rate of only $5/hour on all available Nissan models.

In a recent Motor Trend comparison test, the 2015 Nissan Murano was pitted against the 2015 Hyundai Santa Fe Sport and the 2015 Ford Edge. Motor Trend’s Testing director Kim Reynolds took all three models out for a test drive and compared each of them in terms of standard and available features, comfort, handling, performance and more. In the end, Reynolds selected the 2015 Murano as the top choice amongst the three SUVs.
“One of the central constructs for both the exterior and interior of the new Murano was to ‘elevate your experience,’ which is counterintuitive to the heaviness and chunkiness of the traditional sport/utility vehicle. This helped inspire the push for leading-edge aerodynamic and three key elements of our future designs — the V-Motion front end, signature lighting, and the ‘floating’ roofline.” — Shiro Nakamura, Nissan senior vice president and chief creative officer.
The 2015 Murano stood out in the test due to features such as its impressive interior styling and state-of-the-art Navigation System. Reynolds commented that the Murano’s Navigation System was the best she had ever seen with its crisp graphics and large touchscreen. In terms of interior styling, the all-new Murano offers a better traveling experience with features such as increased leg room and more comfortable seats.
