Chapter eight of the Nissan TITAN Truckumentary has been released, and this new part is called “The Sounds of Silence”. For this newest segment, the brand took a look at the process of reducing the amount of outside noise that is heard from the interior cabin. Over the years, the auto industry has begun to put more and more emphasis on offering drivers a quieter driving experience with less of the noise intrusions that have been known to be a common part of any drive.

Through chapter 8, Nissan show the various amounts of testing that was performed on this new model in order to ensure that its NVH (Noise, Vibration and Harshness) were all at an optimum level so that their customers could enjoy the ride experience even more.

“People use the truck to go camping on the weekend, to go to dinner with their families, and they use it as their work vehicle. So it’s important for the truck to be functional, but just as important to be able to take phone calls and be able to work and live in the truck. Quietness is a key selling point for a lot of people for full-sized trucks now” said John DeYoung, Senior Manager of Nissan’s Noise and Vibration Test Group.

For the past few years, Nissan has served as an official sponsor of the  IMSA TUDOR Series and been a strong presence in the series with a variety of power plants and different types of cars both competing and assisting in the events. For this season, the brand has debuted a new specially-built and designed 2016 Nissan Maxima to serve as one of the official safety cars.

This new safety car made its first appearance on the track this past weekend during the Oak Tree Grand Prix at the Virginia International Raceway in Danville, Virginia. Along with its appearance on the track, Nissan had the vehicle on display for a full week, allowing fans to get a closer look at its impressive features.

The 2016 Maxima Safety Car is scheduled to hit the track again next month during the Lone Star Le Mans race at the Circuit of the Americas which is taking place from September 17-19 in Austin, Texas.

Along with the new safety car, Nissan entered a pair of Doran Racing Nissan 370Z NISMOs in both races. At the Oak Tree Grand Prix, the two cars competed in the Continental Tire SportsCar Challenge.

The Nissan NV Passenger Van has been designed to offer customers the convenience of a mid size van with the storage and hauling capacity of a full-size commercial van. Recently, the brand chose to highlight the stand-out capabilities of this model through a series of short videos that were released on the official Nissan YouTube page.

There are a total of four videos in the series, and each one offers a short, but detailed look into the highlights that have been included on this model to make it more convenient and efficient for customers. Nissan has teamed up with Enterprise CarShare to help college students and faculty navigate around their communities more affordably. Through this program, Nissan will provide new vehicles that Enterprise will make available through their CarShare fleets at close to 90 campuses that participate with their program. This program has become increasingly popular since it was first initiated, and in the last year alone it has grown by 20 percent.

The idea for this program came from research by Enterprise that found that millennials were heavily influenced to purchase a new car based on their rental experience. Surveys showed that 68 percent of the millennial participants admitted to considering a new model because of a positive rental experience with it.

“The Enterprise CarShare program offers a convenient way for college students, faculty, and staff to enjoy an extended test drive of a wide range of Nissan vehicles and to experience ‘Innovation that excites’ firsthand,” said Fred Diaz, senior vice president, Sales & Marketing and Operations, U.S.A., Nissan North America, Inc. “And for those about to graduate and recent graduates, we’ll be there to support the transition into the working world with our College Grad program when they are ready to purchase a new Nissan car, SUV or truck.”

As an additional incentive, from now until December 31, Enterprise CarShare users will be entitled to a special rate of only $5/hour on all available Nissan models.
