If you’ve ever driven a 2016 Nissan LEAF®, you probably already know it is the life of the party. Now, the LEAF is taking that compliment literally, by supplying power to an entire powerless block party. Nissan demonstrated the “Vehicle to Home” capability of the LEAF at Kensington Presents, a donation-based outdoor music and food festival. The Nissan LEAF® was able to power this event through the DC Quickcharge Port, which takes the 360 volt lithium ion battery voltage and converts it to 100 volts of AC power through the internal inverter. In the past few years, Nissan has seen its customer base in the United States continue to grow as they release stylish, innovative, and affordable vehicles. The 1992 Nissan 240SX Convertible was a stylish and sporty edition to the Nissan lineup when it was first introduced 24 years ago. MotorWeek has taken a look back at this model through one of their Retro Review videos in which they explore whether this vehicle is able to transition from hardtop to convertible soft top and still maintain the same level of power and ability. Overall, MotorWeek was pleasantly surprised by the sleek and stylish look that Nissan was able to achieve with the removal of the top, the solid grippy handling and the ability to easily swing the tail on demand. They also found that this model offered an impressive fuel economy rating, making it efficient as well as fun. MotorWeek recently released their official fourth quarter report on 2015 Nissan Murano as part of their long-term update for this model. Overall, they seemed to still be rather impressed with the features and capabilities that this model has to offer and its ability to seamlessly transition between the changing seasons. For the most part, they continue to be impressed with its first rate performance, comfortable seating and smooth drivability; they even called it “one of the best handling units in its five-seater segment”. When Nissan first began designing the 2016 Nissan Titan they decided to offer customers  behind-the-scenes look into the process of creating this impressive vehicle. Thus, the brand created the Nissan TITAN Truckumentary, a multi-part series that follows the design and build of this truck from initial conceptual design planning up through the testing and release of the final product. Recently, the brand released the newest segment in the series “Chapter 9: Making the Grade.” In this latest chapter, the brand gave viewers a look at series of rigorous off-road test that they put this model through in order to ensure its overall strength and durability on even the toughest of roads. For these tests, the 2016 Titan was taken out for a drive on the Montana Mountain. Autonomous driving technology is getting closer to becoming a thing of the present rather than a thing of the future. Many people are still wondering what it would be like to live in a world where we allow our car to handle the stress of driving and if the technology will just end up making us travel like we are on a giant conveyer belt. Many brands including Nissan, however, are making an effort to continue developing this technology to make it more in tune with the type of driving experience that we would expect today. Recently, Nissan showcased the technology within its new IDS Concept that offers a look at the greater possibilities of autonomous driving. This model comes complete with both a manual mode and Piloted Drive, and what makes this technology so unique is that the autonomous driving is programmed to follow the driving patterns of the driver. Therefore, when the driver is driving the car in manual mode, the IDS’s technology has been designed to record the tendencies and habits of the driver so that when Piloted Drive is selected, the vehicle will continue to drive in the same style. Additionally, the autonomous technology in the IDS will also have the ability to overpower the driver in manual mode in order to prevent a possible accident sensed by the vehicle’s accident prevention technologies. The Nissan Altima and the Nissan Rogue are impressive models that come equipped with a number of innovative technologies that help make your drive first rate no matter how near or far you are traveling. Late last week, Nissan debuted the 2016 all-electric LEAF, a vehicle that has the ability to achieve best in class range of 107 miles thanks to an available 30 kWh battery. This is a 27% increase over the previous battery that maxed out at 24 kWh. "The new battery is just one of several enhancements for the 2016 LEAF," said Speaker. "We're also bringing audio and connectivity upgrades by adding NissanConnect with Mobile Apps with 5.0-inch color display as standard features for LEAF S models, and for SV and SL grades we are offering NissanConnect with Navigation and Mobile Apps–featuring a 7.0-inch color display with multi-touch control and Nissan Voice Recognition as standard features.” The SV and SL models will have this enhanced battery as a standard feature. All LEAF models come equipped with an 80kW AC Motor, the NissanConnect System, Bluetooth®, and optional Navigation. Chapter eight of the Nissan TITAN Truckumentary has been released, and this new part is called “The Sounds of Silence”. For this newest segment, the brand took a look at the process of reducing the amount of outside noise that is heard from the interior cabin. Over the years, the auto industry has begun to put more and more emphasis on offering drivers a quieter driving experience with less of the noise intrusions that have been known to be a common part of any drive. Through chapter 8, Nissan show the various amounts of testing that was performed on this new model in order to ensure that its NVH (Noise, Vibration and Harshness) were all at an optimum level so that their customers could enjoy the ride experience even more. "People use the truck to go camping on the weekend, to go to dinner with their families, and they use it as their work vehicle. So it’s important for the truck to be functional, but just as important to be able to take phone calls and be able to work and live in the truck. Quietness is a key selling point for a lot of people for full-sized trucks now" said John DeYoung, Senior Manager of Nissan’s Noise and Vibration Test Group.
