Along with progressive enhancements made to the exterior styling, the new Rogue will also feature available Motion-Activated Liftgate, available Nissan Safety Shield technologies, and even a new hybrid model. "Following three straight years of consecutive growth, we project Rogue will approach 300,000 units in the current fiscal year, nearly doubling sales since 2012," said Muñoz. "For 2017, we're turning up the heat on the competition with enhancements designed to keep Rogue at the top of compact SUV buyers' wish lists." Nissan predicts that the 2017 Rogue will overtake the Nissan Altima to become the top-selling vehicle in the lineup in America. A new study from MIT shows that the electric cars that are currently available can reliably “replace 87 percent of the personal vehicles on the road and still get us where we need to go (and back again).” And it doesn’t stop there. With the ever-improving battery technology that percentage is expected to increase to 98 percent by 2020. Not only would replacing 87 percent of cars on the road have an enormously beneficial impact on the environment, it would reduce our dependence on fossil fuels, and give the vehicle industry an incentive to put more money into cleaner cars and technologies. “It’s taking the approach of empowering people with information, which often today they don’t have,” Jessika Trancik of MIT says. “These changes can happen from the ground. And I think the area of personal transportation is just so exciting for that reason, because private citizens can really make a difference today.” The study also looks specifically at the Nissan LEAF® and points out that for an affordable price you can get an average of 74 miles per charge. When you are just one person it’s hard to imagine that you alone can make a difference in the world. But for little Henry, saving the world is both an individual and group act. Last spring, Henry watched a video in school about the earth and the effects of pollution. He became so upset as a result that he began crying when his mother picked him up from school. While Henry was letting loose his grievances and feelings on the issue his mother recorded him and uploaded the video to social media for friends and family to watch. The video soon went viral and Henry became a poster child for environmental awareness. Since then, Henry has written a book titled "Enjoy the Planet, Don't Wreck It.” and is a sort of neighborhood watch patrol for people who litter and pollute his hometown of Mount Vernon, Washington. Nissan also took notice of Henry’s efforts and decided to show him that he’s not alone in his efforts. This month Nissan presented Henry and his family with a Nissan LEAF adorned with Henry’s very own environmental-related drawings. Do you ever wonder what it would be like to do a completely different job just for a day? Nissan UK is making that happen through their “dream job swap.” As Manchester United City Football Club’s official automotive sponsor, they organized this swap so that four top players on Manchester United and four top GT Academy drivers could trade places and step into one another’s shoes (or driver’s seat) for the day. "Through our partnership with Manchester City Football Club, we’ve been able to bring to life some of the ultimate passions of our fans – football and driving," said Nissan marketing director Chris Marsh. "Being able to make some of the country’s most celebrated talent accessible to our fans through this activity is what makes this partnership so exciting. Seeing the reaction from the players and drivers experiencing the dream job swap has been fantastic and we hope to get a similar reaction from viewers!" This idea was inspired by a study commissioned by Nissan that concluded that almost a third of 9-13-year-olds believed racecar drivers and soccer plays had the most exciting careers. Celebrity Chef Huda has had a lot of big moments in her life, including winning a television cooking show and being a guest chef at the White House, but she was even more nervous to cook a meal for her friends and colleagues. We tend to think of electric vehicles as efficient but not very practical, but Nissan is shaking things up in Europe. They’ve just announced the launch of the e-NV200 overs, which is a seven-seater electric minivan. The new model was revealed at the Geneva Motor Show and it includes two more seats since it was previously only available as a five-seater. Jean-Pierre Diernaz, Nissan’s director of electric vehicles explains, “We have always planned to offer a higher-seating capacity version of the Nissan e-NV200. Marketplace demand has meant we have moved this introduction forward by several months to satisfy this need. Nissan has had requests from taxi companies, VIP transfer services, hotels and private motorists who are interested in buying this uniquely flexible and capable vehicle.” This vehicle will hit dealerships in April. The 2016 GSMA Mobile World Congress is taking place in Barcelona, Spain this week from February 22-25, and Nissan is on hand to showcase the all-new 2016 Nissan LEAF. As part of the unveiling of this new and improved vehicle, the brand released a video that shows them “unboxing” the 2016 LEAF while some of the vehicle’s new stand-out features are described in detail. These upgrades include improvements to the sound quality, charging, performance, style and more. One of these changes includes an upgraded 30 kWh battery. The new 2017 Nissan Armada is making a comeback, with gas prices decreasing and the large SUV’s popularity increasing. It was revealed at the Chicago Auto Show. It has a “shockingly quiet” 5.6-liter V8 engine that brings 390 horsepower and a seven-speed transmission with the optional 4X4 version that can tow up to 8,500 pounds.
