Motor Trend Comparison Test Names 2015 Murano As Top SUV
In a recent Motor Trend comparison test, the 2015 Nissan Murano was pitted against the 2015 Hyundai Santa Fe Sport and the 2015 Ford Edge. Motor Trend’s Testing director Kim Reynolds took all three models out for a test drive and compared each of them in terms of standard and available features, comfort, handling, performance and more. In the end, Reynolds selected the 2015 Murano as the top choice amongst the three SUVs. “One of the central constructs for both the exterior and interior of the new Murano was to ‘elevate your experience,’ which is counterintuitive to the heaviness and chunkiness of the traditional sport/utility vehicle. This helped inspire the push for leading-edge aerodynamic and three key elements of our future designs — the V-Motion front end, signature lighting, and the ‘floating’ roofline.” — Shiro Nakamura, Nissan senior vice president and chief creative officer. The 2015 Murano stood out in the test due to features such as its impressive interior styling and state-of-the-art Navigation System. Reynolds commented that the Murano’s Navigation System was the best she had ever seen with its crisp graphics and large touchscreen. In terms of interior styling, the all-new Murano offers a better traveling experience with features such as increased leg room and more comfortable seats. The 2015 Nissan Murano is available here at Tynan's Nissan Fort Collins where we serve customers from Fort Collins, Greeley, Longmont and Loveland, Co or Cheyenne, WY. The award-winning and incredibly efficient Nissan JUKE has been designed to offer customers an incredibly smooth and relaxing driving experience. Recently, stunt driver Terry Grant decided to put this model’s driving ability to the ultimate test by driving it on only two wheels. this is not the first time that Grant has performed this stunt as be previously set a world record for the fastest mile driven on two wheels in a four-wheel vehicle back in 2011. For this year’s attempt, Grant used the JUKE NISMO RS and was able to not only successfully complete the mile, but he came in at 2 min 10 seconds, which is a full 45 seconds shorter than his previous record. "I was shocked at how much faster the JUKE NISMO RS was, and to take 45 seconds off what was already a quick time, was unbelievable," said Grant. "To break it by so much on my first attempt was a great way to kick off the weekend, and I'm looking forward to seeing if I can go faster." Nissan Brings Back Ride of Your Life
Last year, Nissan released the “Ride of Your Life” campaign that offered a unique look at the impressive performance capabilities of the brand’s all-new Altima. In the spot, participants were told that they would be going for a ride in the new Nissan racecar and climbed in for an exciting trip around the track. When the ride was over, they were then surprised to see the outer camouflage on the vehicle removed revealing that this was a production model sedan. This year, Nissan has brought the “Rise of Your life” campaign back again, but this time they have stepped things up a notch. For this year, the brand set up an elaborate display at a local shopping mall. The display was a large box with digital messages on the side instructing them to press the button in front to enter the Ride of their Life. Many people stepped up to the button and while many were denied, a handful of luck participants were given the greenlight. The selected participants then saw the boxes outside digital camouflage fade away revealing an Altima and a professional driver. Then then entered the car and were driven to a race track where they proceeded to take the ride of their life. "Consumer response to last year's campaign was so strong, we just had to play it again, even bigger and better," said Jeremy Tucker, vice president, Marketing Communications and Media, Nissan North America. "You can see the excitement on the participants' faces when the Altima is revealed at the mall, and especially after their track ride-and-drive experience – reinforcing our belief that Altima is no ordinary mid-size sedan." Check out the video above to see how Nissan worked to think outside the box for the newest Altima Ride of Your Life!

2016 Maxima - Facts To Know
With the coming release of the 8th Generation Nissan Maxima when the 2016 model makes its official debut, Nissan is taking a look over the impressive history of one of their most popular models. The very first model in the line was the Datsun 810 Maxima, which was released in 1981. In the more than thirty years since the introduction of this first model, the line has grown an impressive fan following. Now, in preparation for the 2016 model’s arrival, the brand has released a list of the top eight facts to know about this all-new model. We brought you the first four facts in our previous blog, listed below are the remaining four. 2016 Nissan Maxima Facts: 5. Textural Messaging - The interior of the all-new Maxima was designed with advanced touchpoints and features such as the D-shaped steering wheel, diamond-quilted seat inserts and genuine stitching on the doors, console and instrument panel. All of these new features have been added in order to heighten the senses and make the driver feel more connected to the vehicle. 6. How About A Coffee - The Platinum trim of the 2016 Maxima offers the brand's new Driver Attention Alert (DAA) system* which tracks driver behavior to look for signs of drowsy driving. When the system detects a change in driving pattern indicating drowsiness, the system flashes a warning sign with an amber coffee cup symbol and the words "Need A break?" to bring the driver's attention to the situation. 7. Who's the Emboss - This model has embossed "4DSC" logos on the side taillight reflectors and headlights. 8. Max plant - The Nissan Smyrna, Tennessee plant is where the 2016 Maxima is manufactured Throughout 2014, this plant produced 648.000 vehciles, which is more than any other North American automotive plant. *It is the driver's responsibility to remain alert at all times. DAA is only a warning to inform the driver of a potential lack of driver attention or drowsiness. It does not detect and provide an alert in every situation. See Owner's Manual for details.
The 8th Generation Maxima has a lot to Offer
The Maxima is arguably one of the most well known models from Nissan. Recently the 8th generation of this iconic 4-Door Sports Car was revealed, creating quite the buzz amongst the gear heads. Nissan has taken notice and has released the top 8 things you should know about the 2016 Maxima. Here we have the first four for you. 1. Angelic Inspiration: For inspiration while creating the all-new model, Nissan designers visited the U.S. Navy’s Blue Angels®*. This is most noticeable in the wrap-around design of the cockpit internally and the lowered, sculpted and streamline exterior. Lastly, a special metal stamping technique was developed, adding the gestures to its bodyline and deeply scalloped doors. 2. By The Numbers: The 2016 Maxima is simply longer, leaner, lower and tighter than previous editions. Enhancements include 2.2 inches in length, 1.3 inches lower, 82 pounds lighter and 25 percent more torsional rigidity. 3. HP/MPG: Nissan decided that the 8th generation needed to more powerful and go further. The horsepower has been increased by 10, to 300 hp. Under the hood, there is 61% new engine parts and the MPG is anticipated to reach 30 mpg** . 4. Sounds Like Max Spirit: One of the many goals of this model was to create a quiet and comfortable interior. Nissan engineers wanted a Maxima driver to be able to drive alone on a quiet road and hear nothing. To meet that goal, laminated glass was added to the windshield and front door windows and an Active Noise Cancellation (ANC) system was put in to remove low-frequency sounds. To enhance the existing engine sound, a state-of-the-art Active Sound Enhancement (ASE) system was added. To find out what else the 2016 Nissan Maxima has to offer, stay tuned to the Tynan’s Nissan of Fort Collins blog. We will add the other four points in the future. * Blue Angels® is a registered mark of the Department of the Navy. Use does not represent any endorsement, expressed or implied, by the Department of Defense, Department of the Navy, or any other United States government agency. ** Fuel economy based on Targeted 2016 EPA fuel economy estimates for 2016 Maxima – EPA data not available at time of publication. Targeted 2016 fuel economy 30 hwy estimates based on Nissan internal testing results, subject to EPA confirmation. Actual mileage may vary with driving conditions – use for comparison only.
Glow-In-The-Dark Nissan LEAF Creates Record Setting Glowing Painting
Recently, Nissan turned heads by creating the first glow-in-the-dark vehicle. An innovative finish was applied to the LEAF that allows it to absorb UV energy and other visible radiation throughout the day, causing it to glow for eight to 10 hours. But making a vehicle glow isn’t enough for Nissan. They wanted to accomplish more, something bigger, like Guinness World Record bigger, and that’s just what they did. Using 60 liters of luminous acrylics paint, a giant PVC-coated canvas and the wheels of the LEAF as paint brushes, artists Ian Cook, of Popbangcolour, was able to set the Guinness World Record for the Largest Glow-in-the-Dark painting. The LEAF self-portrait took over 61 hours to complete and was overseen by an official Guinness World Records adjudicator Fortuna Burke and awarded the Guinness World Records title on March 20, 2015. To learn more about the efficient Nissan LEAF come into Tynan’s Nissan of Fort Collins and we will be happy to get you set up with a test drive.
